Rainbow’s End Child Development Center was established to meet the need for quality and convenient child care to the children of Southern Illinois University Carbondale students, faculty and staff.

The primary goal of the Center is to provide a secure and positive atmosphere for children while their parents attend classes and work at SIUC. The Center is committed to providing a program which embodies developmentally appropriate practices and principles by following standards outlined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Some highlights of our program include:

  • Licensed by State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)
  • Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
  • Well-balanced curriculum following Creative Curriculum guidelines
  • Skilled and experienced teaching staff
  • Child: Teacher ratios lower than required by utilizing SIUC Early Childhood students
  • Spacious building with seven classrooms, indoor activity room and three playgrounds
  • Convenient location with ample private parking for parents
  • Secure Scan-Entry building
  • Reduced fees for SIUC students
  • Participant in U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Program
  • Participant the Illinois Department of Human Services Child Care Subsidy Program
